Picnic with Members of St. Luke's, Price's Corners

FulcrumCC

On July 19, about 25 members of St. Luke’s, Price’s Corners gathered for a picnic at the century home of Stewart & Eleanor Bloom near the shore of Bass Lake. It was lots of fun for us to chat and eat with friends in such a relaxing and beautiful setting. The lunch was provided by the Blooms – such a treat for the rest of us. And Eleanor’s gardens were at their spectacular summer peak. Thanks to the Blooms for their generous hospitality.

Congratulations – from Bishop Fenty

My heartiest congratulations on the launching of your Cluster Website. I like it and look forward to its continued development.

I am most grateful to the clerical and lay leadership of the Cluster, and for all that you do in Christian work and witness. I am very pleased with how the members of the five congregations have embraced this form of ministry and their commitment to living out their baptismal ministry in meaningful and life-giving ways.

I also affirm your statement that, “Our vision is God’s abundant love transforming lives. Our mission as followers of Jesus is to love, encourage and serve God’s people.”

My prayers and good wishes are with you.

Blessings,

The Right Reverend Peter DeC. Fenty
Area Bishop of York-Simcoe,
Bishop Suffragan of Toronto

The Rev. Earl Gerber's 55th visit Celebration

FulcrumCC

Today at Good Samaritan Church, 36 people gathered for regular Sunday worship with the Rev. Earl Gerber leading and preaching.

This was a special occasion due to this being the 55th year that Earl has been to Good Sam. Some of those years were when he was the incumbent of the Parish of Washago (of which Good Sam was a part of) back in the 1960s and 1970s. And since retiring, Earl and his wife Betsie have been back each summer to lead worship and reconnect with many cherished friends.

After the service on the lawn of the church Earl and Betsie cut the cake and shared the treat with everyone. The church and lawn are just across the way from the shore of beautiful Sparrow Lake. Thanks, Earl, for you faithful service down the years!
